Nestlé Health Science Honors Veterans Day
Expressing Gratitude by Aiding Military Veterans and Their Families
Veterans Day, observed on November 11, is an important occasion that recognizes the immense courage and sacrifice of military veterans who have selflessly served in the U.S. Armed Forces. At Nestlé Health Science, we deeply value and appreciate the unwavering service and dedication of all veterans.
In line with our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace, our United We Stand Employee Resource Group plays a vital role in creating a strong and compassionate community that honors our veterans.
Furthermore, we are humbled to extend our support to two remarkable organizations, Fisher House Foundation and America's VetDogs, which play a crucial role in providing essential assistance to military members, veterans, and their families. We have proudly partnered with VetDogs for the past three years, and we are excited to announce our new partnership with Fisher House this year.
Christina Ferzli, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications at Nestlé Health Science, emphasizes the significance of Veterans Day, stating, "It is a privilege and honor to express our gratitude to the brave men and women who have selflessly served our country. Through our grants and partnerships, we strive to provide valuable support and resources to improve the lives of veterans and their loved ones."
Collaborating with Nonprofits to Make an Impact
Fisher House Foundation is a nonprofit organization that builds comfort homes for families of hospitalized military personnel. These homes offer a sanctuary for families to stay, completely free of charge, ensuring that they can remain close to their loved ones during times of medical crises. We support three important programs: Sponsor a Family, Scholarships for Military Children, and Heroes' Legacy Scholarships.
“Fisher House Foundation is grateful to Nestlé Health Science for supporting military and veteran families through Fisher House Foundation,” said Ken Fisher, chairman and CEO of Fisher House Foundation. “We often say, ‘Families serve, too.’ With their grant to Fisher House’s scholarship programs, Nestlé Health Science is investing in the future of children who have also served by the side of their military parents.”
America's VetDogs has developed service dog programs with the aim of enhancing mobility and restoring independence to United States veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders with disabilities. These programs enable individuals to regain their sense of pride and self-reliance. We are proud to serve as a Name a Puppy sponsor as well as a Hospitality sponsor, further assisting those who have honorably served our country in living with dignity and independence.
“Service dogs save lives and change the lives not only of the veterans and first responders we have the honor to serve, but also of their family, friends and colleagues,” said Mike Rosen, chief marketing officer, America’s VetDogs. “The support we receive from Nestlé Health Science will help us breed, raise, train and place our specially trained dogs all at no cost to the veterans or first responders we serve, allowing them to Live Without Boundaries.”
Through grants awarded to each organization, we are privileged to contribute to their values, mission, and ongoing efforts in supporting those who have honorably served our nation.
