Nestlé Health Science Foundation Raises $660K During Annual Golf Outing to Strengthen Communities
Underscoring the company’s commitment to empowering the nutrition, health and wellness of communities nationwide
BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (October 10, 2023) – Nestlé Health Science, a global leader in nutritional health and wellness, is proud to announce the success of its 17th annual golf outing and winery tour in support of the Nestlé Health Science Foundation.
The event, held on Oct. 7 on Long Island, New York, raised $660,000 for the Nestlé Health Science Foundation, championing health and wellness initiatives with a focus on nutrition.
These funds will have a significant impact on the Foundation's ability to support key charitable initiatives and non-profit organizations tied to this mission, such as Girls With Impact, Disability:IN, Special Olympics, and the American Red Cross.
“Nestlé Health Science continues to be driven by our mission of empowering healthier lives through nutrition. Part of that mission includes building a strong community and creating meaningful connections through moments like this one,” said Abigail Buckwalter, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Health Science U.S. “Our charitable foundation makes a significant impact on the lives of individuals and patients and embodies our commitment to communities nationwide.”
Over 250 company leaders, company employees, customers and suppliers attended, coming together with a shared goal of giving back to the community. In addition to various friendly golf competitions, attendees were also able to tour a local winery before attending a reception and dinner. This year, the event featured NBA legend John Starks, former All-Star and member of the New York Knicks, as its guest speaker.
“It was an honor was to be a part of the event, which inspires me to always give back to our communities,” Starks said. “It is remarkable to witness the drive and generosity of Nestlé Health Science in their mission to be a driving change for the better - something my Foundation has done since 1994.”
During the event, Starks discussed lessons learned during his time as an athlete, and the community work he has taken up since. Established in 1994, The John Starks Foundation is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Tulsa, Okla., college-bound high school seniors in the form of monetary grants.
For over 17 years, the Nestlé Health Science Foundation, a 501c3 organization, has been a driving force in empowering nutrition and wellness. Committed to supporting nonprofit organizations, the Foundation achieves this through grants, product donations, and employee volunteer opportunities.
