Department of Environmental Protection Names Nestlé Health Science a 2022 NJ Recycling Leader
Recognized efforts included recycling, composting and waste reduction initiatives.
This week our team was honored during the New Jersey DEP’s annual Recycling Awards program as a 2022 New Jersey Recycling Leader in the business category. We were recognized for numerous recycling, composting and waste reduction initiatives at our Bridgewater, NJ site. Through these efforts, we kept 86% of generated waste out of the waste disposal stream in 2021.
“The Murphy Administration commends the award winners for promoting recycling and educating their communities about the importance of diverting waste to better protect our natural resources," said Shawn LaTourette, DEP Commissioner. “New Jersey is consistently a national leader in recycling, and we applaud the winners for going above and beyond to help keep the environment safe and clean for all.”
Christiane Baker, Sustainability Lead for Nestle Health Science U.S., accepted the award on behalf of NHSc.
"Caring for the environment through recycling best practices is just one of the many ways we continue to embed sustainability into all aspects of our business," shared Baker. "This recognition further demonstrates our commitment to supporting people and the planet through the products we make, the actions we take, and the communities for which we care.
