Addressing Food Insecurity: Nestlé Health Science Foundation Supports Feeding America® With $50,000 Grant During National Nutrition Month

Empowering Communities Through Collaborative Efforts for Equitable Food Access

In honor of National Nutrition Month, Nestlé Health Science, a global leader in nutritional health and wellness, announces enhanced support for Feeding America®, the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States.

With over 44 million people in the US facing hunger, including 1 in 5 children, Nestlé Health Science is taking action by contributing a $50,000 grant to Feeding America's Food Security Equity Impact Fund. The Fund provides multi-year grants to food banks and community partners engaged in food justice and equitable food access initiatives, supporting community-based solutions.

"Access to quality nutrition is a fundamental right for everyone, regardless of their circumstances. At Nestlé Health Science, this core belief drives our relentless pursuit of nutritional innovations that empower healthier lives," stated Christina Ferzli, Director and Head of Communications and Corporate Affairs. "In partnership with Feeding America, we are taking our commitment a step further by actively addressing food insecurity and helping to provide individuals and families with the nourishment they need to thrive."

"Being healthy and having enough nutritious food go hand in hand. Neighbors facing hunger tell us that to end food insecurity for good, we need to ensure everyone can easily get and afford the fresh foods they choose to stay healthy, without having to give up on other important things like medicine or going to the doctor," said Lauren Biedron, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at Feeding America. "We are grateful to have the support of Nestlé Health Science as we work alongside people facing hunger to make sure everyone has what they need to improve their health and thrive."

The company’s commitment to Feeding America goes beyond donations. Nestlé Health Science has participated in Feeding America’s disaster relief efforts, providing support and resources to communities in times of crisis. Additionally, Nestlé Health Science's brands, Nature's Bounty, Puritan's Pride, and Solgar, have engaged in cause marketing initiatives to raise awareness and funds for Feeding America's mission.

Nestlé Health Science also recently joined forces with Pack Shack, a nonprofit organization committed to combating food insecurity through their signature Feed the Funnel parties. During this impactful volunteer event, Nestlé Health Science team members packed an astounding 50,000 meals, all of which supported Second Harvest Food Bank in Orange County, CA.

In recognition of National Nutrition Month, Nestlé Health Science will further engage its team in the movement to end hunger throughout March by activating a virtual volunteer opportunity with food technology nonprofit Lemontree which connects individuals in need with local resources, food pantries, and soup kitchens in their area.
